County Durham and the Tees Valley have some of the best-value golf in England — and a small but growing number of Out on the Fairway members based here. If you're a gay, lesbian or bisexual golfer in Durham, Chester-le-Street, Darlington, Stockton or anywhere in between, we'd love to see you in the group.
How it works
Everything happens in our private Facebook group. Post when you want a game; people meet you there. No subs, no compulsory fixtures, no awkward AGMs.
Where we play in Durham & Tees Valley
- Ramside Hall — two 18-hole championship courses just outside Durham.
- Brancepeth Castle Golf Club — classic Harry Colt parkland near Durham city.
- Chester-le-Street Golf Club — well-regarded parkland with views over Lumley Castle.
- Blackwell Grange Golf Club — friendly Darlington parkland, good visitor welcome.
- Eaglescliffe Golf Club — Tees Valley parkland with sea views, a quiet members' favourite.
- Middlesbrough Golf Club — strong heathland-style course on the southern edge of Teesside.
Bishop Auckland, Consett and the rural west
Members further west — Bishop Auckland, Consett, Stanley — play Bishop Auckland and Consett & District regularly. Post in the group if you want company at either.
Newcastle and Northumberland too
We're one group covering the whole North East — many members happily drive between Durham, Newcastle and Northumberland. See our pages for gay golf in Newcastle and gay golf in Northumberland.
